Museum

$59.99

Designed by Olivier Melison and Eric Dubus and illustrated by Vincent Dutrait, Museum is a set collection board game for 2-4 players.

You play as a Museum curator seeking to fill your galleries with collections of historical artefacts. You’ll need to acquire interesting objects from four different Continents, then display them to earn points. At the end of the game, you’ll get even more points if you created collections, which can be based on the type of artefact, or the civilization it’s from. The bigger the collection, the more points it’s worth.

The player with the most points at the end of the game wins!

Description

In Museum, the aim of the game is to collect Object cards from each of the four Continents shown on the main board. These cards can then be exhibited into your Museum – represented by your player board – to gain you points!

Museum’s base mechanic is very simple. Each artefact card has a value that represents the cost of exhibiting it, as well as the number of points you gain by adding it to your galleries. To place an artefact from your hand into your galleries, it must be paid for by discarding one or several cards of equal or higher value, which are placed into your discard pile. Your discard pile is like your Museum’s warehouse – objects placed there are not currently on display, but can be retrieved at any time. However, objects in your discard can be taken by other players for their own collections, so beware!

To gain even more points, you can create collections by positioning cards adjacent to one another on your player board, much like in the rooms and corridors of a real museum. Collections can be based on one of the twelve different Civilizations in the game, or on one of the 6 different object types known as Domains. These collections can cross over each other so combine your cards creatively to get the highest score!

The Museum board game is an engaging experience that is also rich in historical content. All of the objects and places featured in the game are real, and the information included on each card is factual. Each object card is unique, and gorgeously illustrated by the inimitable Vincent Dutrait, who single-handedly created over 300 illustrations for the game.
