Rallyman: GT

Description

The Base Mechnanics of Rallyman: GT are simple.

You have 6 Gear dice, representing the gears of your car. You’ll be rolling these dice to move, and each one allows you to move 1 space along the track. The dice must be rolled in ascending and/or descending order, and each die can only be rolled once per turn.

Coast dice allow you to maintain your current speed, which can help you to navigate tricky turns and squeeze in a few extra spaces of movement.

Brake dice allow you to reduce your speed quickly, but using them is risky…

Each die has a certain number of Warning symbols. If you get 3 in one roll, you’ll suffer a Loss of Control, which will lose you time and potentially damage your car.

The core of the game is finding creative ways to combine your dice to achieve the ideal trajectory along the track. However, once you’ve chosen your dice, you’ll have one more choice to make. You can choose to play it safe by rolling your dice one by one, which gives you the opportunity to end your movement immediately if too many Warning symbols start to appear.

Or, if you’re feeling lucky, you can roll all of your dice at once! If your roll is successful, you will be rewarded with Focus tokens. These tokens can be spent during later turns to secure your dice rolls, guaranteeing their success.

As you play, you’ll have to deal with all of the challenges of the track, including sharp corners and particularly difficult sections of road, which have speed limitations. Taking a corner straight across will save you time, but watch out for other drivers! Your opponents can cut you off, forcing you to make more dangerous maneuvers to get ahead.

Rallyman GT is a deceptively simple racing game with a lot of tactical depth. Speed is everything – at the start of each new round, the turn order changes and the fastest player always goes first. Only in the case of a tie does the player furthest ahead gain the advantage, so you’ll have to put the pedal to the metal!
