The EarthBall Story
Inspired by early NASA photographs, founder Eric Morris created the first photorealistic globe as it appeared from deep space. After years of technical and artistic innovation, prominent organizations started commissioning large scale installations, and retailers began buying small globes by the thousands!
Decades later – with clientele ranging from families to schools to global corporations and government agencies – EarthBalls are celebrated as the original and most authentic globes available.

1985

The EarthBall is Born!
Founder Eric J. Morris, inspired by the early environmental movement and Apollo astronaut photos, creates the first representation of our planet as it appears from deep space.
Into Outer Space!
One very special EarthBall is launched into orbit aboard the NASA Space Shuttle Atlantis. During their 3.7 million mile journey, astronauts deploy the EarthBall in various filming projects.

1992
1997

Little Worlds Everywhere!
Retail stores, educators and parents begin buying EarthBalls by the thousands. They start popping up in classrooms, offices and homes around the world!
NASA and The Olympics!
Collaborating with NASA, EarthBall creates the most visually authentic globes ever made. A pair of 16’ globes is commissioned for the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, UT.

2002
2009

Custom Installations!
Notable clientele over the years include: Coca Cola, Discovery Channel, the United Nations, Houston Zoo, Vancouver Convention Center, Blue Origin, Barbie, and the Vegas Sphere.
Parade Globes Are Born!
Affordable giant EarthBalls hit the market, and sales skyrocket. People worldwide display them in parades, marches, concerts, special events, and fundraisers.

2014
2018

Pope Francis and ISS!
NASA once again launches an EarthBall into space, where it takes center stage while Pope Francis holds a video conference with the astronauts aboard the International Space Station.
Company ReVisioning!
Three websites are created to showcase the different arms of the company: EarthBall as the retail division, Orbis Globes as the custom installation division, and Terra as the public art exhibition project.
