Jila Ji

Jila Ji self titled is a true labor of love. This collaboration with Masaru Higasa began its first recordings in 2013 and was mastered in late 2023. Each song has had several renditions, many of them re-recorded from start to finish multiple rimes. Some favorite musicians joined the collaboration including Masaru Higasa & Pepper Proud (of Yaima), Jared May, Youssoupha Sidibe, Johd De Kadt and Skip VonKuske, to make a rich tapestry of time, sound and soul.

These songs have carried me through some of the most meaningful and challenging events of my life, including the death of both of my parents. These songs have been a place for me to go to — they created a magical world of solace, peace and warmth. I would like to invite you into this world.
